Communications Unit

Link to Communications Unit Projects

Like it or not we live in a world where employers expect their employees, especially those employed in communication technology to be able to grasp and express complex thoughts in both written and spoken form. This site you are on as an example.I don't work with a writing staff or office of proof readers on this site. You might already know that if you’ve caught any of my typos before I have. Although my background is in the visual arts, I have had to improve my ability to communicate in the written form. I have not found this to be especially enjoyable, only neccessary.

As you read the frameworks associated with this unit you might be asking yourself if this is this an art class or an english class. I can assure you, this is a vocational class and part of our vocation involves being able to research, analyze and compose the written word.

To make these requirements a little more relevant we will be combining many of these more academic requirements with a computer assignment by creating and delivering a PowerPoint presentation. Additionally there will be an online educational site, Skills Tutor, that you will be working from for this unit.
